About the charge-off figure

All figures come from the SBA's public FOIA funded-loan datasets. The charge-off rate is reported only on 7(a) loans — it is the share of a lender's 7(a) loans marked charged off — so a 504-only lender shows “not reported,” never 0 percent. It is not a lifetime default rate and should not be read as a prediction. See the methodology for the full definition.
