Why nonprofit organizations are not SBA-eligible

SBA 7(a) and 504 loans require a for-profit business. Most nonprofit organizations are therefore not eligible, even when they run revenue-generating programs.

The applicant must be a for-profit business operating in the United States.

What to use instead

Look at grants, CDFIs and community lenders, foundation funding, and nonprofit-focused loan funds instead.
